Rabbi Feels Messiah Is Near

Russian Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar believes the Earth will soon see the coming a Messiah to judge all mankind.

I find it very interesting. This is the first I've heard a Jew feel that we are living in the End of Days. His take on the whole thing, what with the Messiah having to be born and all, is quite interesting and understandable. As Jews rejected Yeshua as Messiah it only makes sense that they would expect Him to be born to a woman in modern times. Obviously Christians believe that Yeshua's return will be a lot less subtle.

Still, that Jews are feeling what many Christians have felt for a long time is quite... comforting. I firmly believe that we are living in the End Times and that I will see the return of Yeshua within my lifetime. Everything is almost in place and the field is ripe for a harvest.

The return of our Lord is upon us! Praise be to Him!

Kevin, you need to carefully read the Gospels. Jesus specifically states that it is not for us to know when the End Times will come. That knowledge is specifically reserved to the Father. "As for the exact day or hour, no one knows it, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father only." (Matthew 25: 36) "Stay awake, therefore! You cannot know the day your Lord is coming." (Matthew 25: 42)

Yes but Jesus did describe things that would transpire just before He arrived and that we should be ready for it. While He didn't give a specific date He did give us signs and portents to be mindful of when the time was near. I believe that these events are coming together in our age and will be completed within our lifetime. Israel becoming a nation again at the end of World War 2, after over 2000 years of non-existance, marked the beginning of the end. All eyes are on Israel and the Middle East. The Gospel tells us that Israel shall be a tripping stone for the entire world and that the world will try to deal with her and fail. Isn't it strange that Israel is the focus of all world politics? Everyone has some "solution" for the Middle East problems and they all involve Israel. Strange that.

We are living at the end of human history. The signs surround us.
