The Rantings Of A Christian Conservative Gamer

The Right Spin

The Long Awaited Update
Well, I should have a lot more time available to my blog because I've been fired from my job with Comcast. I'm glad to be gone as they've created an intolerable work environment for all their employees and as Michigan is an, "at will" state they know they can get away with it.

I was fired because their database saw that a call I was on was disconnected. The database informed them that the disconnect was initiated by myself. I have no recollection of the call (taking 80-100 calls a day does that). 4 years of service isn't enough for them to look past it or even consider the possibility that their database is incorrect. They can't keep their own network running half the time so why this possibility isn’t on the table is beyond me.

However, I feel that a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Other opportunities have presented themselves in a timely manner both within Michigan and without. A particular one without has me quite excited.

But, that's that.

Kevin, I wish you the best of luck on a new, and hopefully more fulfilling job. I hope something comes along which will be right for you very soon.

Kevin, let me also wish you well. I am sure you will do well no matter where your career path leads. Please keep us informed! You know, here in NY we even welcome conservatives...........why don't you look for a job here??

Best of luck, my friend. Be well.

Well I'm glad your happy and good luck on finding a new job. If you get really desperate let me know I think my company is still looking for a few people in this area.

Kevin, let's be honest. First off, you probably did hang up on that customer otherwise you wouldnt have been fired. Secod you dont take 100 or 80 calls per night. Hell, you dont take 20. Even in your blog you said you mostly blog at work anyway. You got fired because you did something wrong that you knew was wrong...period. I'd also like to see a company that pays people $30-40 an hour to tell someone how to recycle a modem.

Well, guest.........let me ask you a few things. You seem to have a pretty negative attitude towards Kevin. Are you a personal acquaintance? You also seem to think you are well-informed about his former place of employment and have the inside scoop as to what occurred. Are you a former colleague? Perhaps a supervisor? If so, you are acting in an extremely unprofessional manner. Which, considering what I know about Comcast, doesn't suprise me in the least.

Regardless of you are, and what the motivations behind your post truly are, you need to understand something. This blog is NOT the place for personal invectives. It is a place where ideas are exchanged and debated freely. We may disagree with each other over various issues, but I think I can speak for all when I assert that we always respect each other. If you can not particpate productively in the discussions we have, then please take your attitude and pettiness elsewhere. Your petulance and vitriol is not wanted here.

Oh, and "guest"? Please look into the novel ideas of proper punctuation, correct syntax, and proper spelling.

The unwarranted personal attack by "Guest" on Kevin, the host of this blog, is completely gratuitous. I have disagreed with Kevin many times, in fact, most times, and he has never attacked me personally, nor have I attacked him personally. I completely support AngelLover's remarks on this matter. We must learn how to disagree with one another without taking our differing views to the level of personal attack.

First off I thought that the basis of any debate starts with facts. All I did was point out things that were not true. Second I do the exact same job that Kevin did so I know what the expectation is. Third I never knew that part of blogging was making sure all my grammar was correct. (Sorry Angel, maybe I'll buy a thesaurus so I can sound like I'm smart like you are.) And last I didnt think I said anything that personally attacked Kevin. To be honest with you I like Kevin. I just wish he would tell the complete story.

Guest, unless you happen to be my former manager, the area manager or work in HR you cannot know the facts.

And if you really "like" me then you'll be kind enough to share your real name. We are friends afterall, right?

Kevin, remember that only cowards attack anonymously. "Guest" can't be anyone of consequence. Besides, he/she isn't even bright enough to use a spell-check.

An aside to the now-infamous "Guest": it will take more than merely a thesaurus to make you sound as smart as I truly am. Frankly, it would most likely take about another 50 IQ points! However, might I suggest that the next time you are browsing Amazon you pick up a copy of Strunk &White's? It certainly won't hurt!

Kevin, your friends are behind you all the way. Don't let small-minded pettiness get to you!

Kevin,
I am so glad that you have been given a new opportunity to expand your ability to serve others. I hope that others will see thei opportunity if they ever get fired. Remember, the wealth of the wicked is being stored up for the righeous. YES, that means you!
